The v3.2 stress index is a six-axis composite of energy and food exposure, geopolitical pressure, fiscal headroom, demography and supply concentration, normalised to a 0–1 scale.
Serbia imports most of its oil and gas, with gas supplied largely by Russia via TurkStream, and runs its power system on domestic lignite. It hosts the Russian-linked NIS refining company. A strong agricultural sector gives it a cereal surplus.
Serbia's water supply rests on the Danube and its tributaries, with recurrent agricultural drought.
