The v3.2 stress index is a six-axis composite of energy and food exposure, geopolitical pressure, fiscal headroom, demography and supply concentration, normalised to a 0–1 scale.
Vietnam has modest oil and gas output but, as a fast-growing manufacturing hub, increasingly imports crude, refined fuel and coal. It is one of the world's largest rice exporters, giving it a structural food surplus. Power-supply tightness has periodically constrained its industry.
Vietnam's Mekong Delta faces drought and salt intrusion, while the centre suffers recurrent dry spells.
