The v3.2 stress index is a six-axis composite of energy and food exposure, geopolitical pressure, fiscal headroom, demography and supply concentration, normalised to a 0–1 scale.
Thailand has significant Gulf of Thailand gas output but imports crude, refined fuel and a growing volume of LNG as domestic gas fields mature. It is a major rice and food exporter. The transition toward imported LNG is its principal energy-security shift.
Thailand faces recurrent severe drought that lowers reservoirs and threatens the rice crop.
