The v3.2 stress index is a six-axis composite of energy and food exposure, geopolitical pressure, fiscal headroom, demography and supply concentration, normalised to a 0–1 scale.
Turkey imports the overwhelming majority of its oil and gas and has positioned itself as a major energy transit and trading hub between Asia, Russia and Europe. Domestic Black Sea gas from the Sakarya field is beginning to ease that dependence. A large agricultural producer, it still imports wheat.
