The v3.2 stress index is a six-axis composite of energy and food exposure, geopolitical pressure, fiscal headroom, demography and supply concentration, normalised to a 0–1 scale.
The Federated States of Micronesia, scattered across a vast stretch of the Pacific, imports all of its fuel and most of its food. Diesel generation supplies dispersed island grids, with solar expanding. In free association with the United States, it is exposed to typhoons and sea-level rise.
Micronesia faces recurrent El Niño drought, dependent on rainwater and small island catchments.
